Book with liturgical and paraliturgical songs, ca 1500 or second half 15th century (?), once belonging to the chapter of Xanten (fol. 66v: Istud sequens legitur in collegio Xantensis in domo capitulari ...); see also fol. 64v.
Several hands. The chants are for the most part Latin, and provided with Hufnagelschrift on staves drawn in ink. The maior part of the book probably served as a processional.
Fol. 1: Psalterium BMV

Fol. 6v: Marian antiphons (with notation)
Fol. 8v: Ecce karissimi (In dom. precedenti dom. Adv. Dom.). Then follow responsories etc. for (the processions?) of Advent, Christmas, etcetera. Fol. 14r: Media vite in morte. Then chants according to the liturgical year up till Holy Week. Fol. 17r: Simon dormis non potuisti una hora vigilare mecum Vel iudam non vides ... followed by some verses: Hoc recordare in mente tua quere veni visitare presentis mundi mare ut tu sis liberior lucidior et forcior kelydro repugnare pro te probra pacior et crucior amare pro te morior stude mecum vigilare. Then the ms continues with chants for Holy Week.
Fol. 22v: Chants for the Rogation days, among which Ardua spes.
Fol. 30r: Pater noster with tropes: Pater noster - Ex quo omnia - Qui es in celis - Omni tempore secli - Sanctificetur - Coram hominibus - Nomen tuum etc. With notation.
Fol. 31r: Credo with tropes: Credo in deum - Cum throni et dominaciones occurrunt - Patrem omnipotentem - Regem regum - Creatorem celi et terre - Maris angelorum et hominum etc. With notation.
Fol. 33v: Regina celi in semimensural notation.
Fol. 34: Iubilus in die communionis devotorum: Dies est leticie in domo mentali Nam advenit hodie vi sacramentali Ihesus ammirabilis multum delectabilis in humanitate Qui est ineffabilis et inestimabilis in divinitate etc. (7 strophes).
Fol. 35r: Kyrie fons bonitatis, Johannes postquam senuit, Anima mea liquefacta.
Fol. 36r: Chants for Easter vigil: Inventor rutili, Exultet, Cum rex glorie, Salve festa, etc.

altare sancti victoris versus aquilonem. Quiquidam (?) sonus factus
est quinquies sed ultima verberatio non adeo vehementer intonuerat
sicuti (?) prime verberaciones quatuor Quibus verberibus factis
venerunt canonici tunc in choro exeuntes (?) ad extra choro exeuntes
illi que illis occurentes venerunt quesitum quidnam hoc esset qui se
invicem respondentes dixerunt nescimus audivimus nos sicuti et bos sed
quid est quod ve significat penitus ignoramus Istud di??lgabatur
(divulgabatur?) non tamen (?) per totam civitatem sed per totam patriam
et suspirabatur a multis signis future deportacionis [sancti ...?] (bottom
margin cut off).
Then follows a poem Iure quidem perdecorum and more on
the deportation of st Victor.
