Kruisheren (Crosiers) |
Ordo Sanctae Crucis; order of regular canons, originated first half 13th century in the diocese of Liège. Mother house: Klaaroord (Clarus Locus, Clairlieu) near Hoei.
Patron saints of the order: Augustinus and Helena, later Odilia.
The liturgy of the Kruisheren was based on that of the Dominicans.
Manuscripts have been preserved (among others) in the University Library Luik and in the library of the Groot-Seminarie Luik (communication with pater Winkelmolen osc, 1999).
