Book with both Office and Mass chants; square notation on red staves; 1550. Script: chant texts: textualis; rubrics and incipits: hybrida. Belonging to the Lambertuskerk of Hechtel, a parish church of Averbode.
The book is dated: front flyleaf verso: Istum librum matutinalem scribi curavit frater ac dominus Andreas Kemps ab balen. Curatus ab hechtelt. Expensis mamburnorum [?] ecclesie pretacte Anno xv-c quinquagesimo Junii xxix. And in the back of the book Hoc presens Matutinale scriptum est in oppido Thenensi. In cenobio carmelito. Per manus fratris Nycholai oliveri a lovano. Anno Domini 1550 Junii xxix. HSS Maria.
The book contains both Mass and Office chants, but not a complete cycle for the liturgical year, only the main Temporale parts and high feasts.
