Thomas a Kempis |
Circa 1379-1471. Lived in the 1390's with Florens Radewijns in Deventer. In September 1399 he entered the Augustinian convent Agnietenberg near Zwolle.
Hymns, etcetera, attributed to him are in AH, vol. 48, nrs. 458-493 (pp. 475-514); B-Br 4585-87 is mentioned as an autograph and contains a few songs (fols 19-22). Besides, some of the songs are in A-Wn sn 12875, D-Bsb Germ. oct. 190, and in D-Bsb Germ. oct. 280 (Liedbuch von Anna von Köln). See for other mss with songs attributed to him: Opera Omnia IV, pp. 485 ff; the attributions are however not without doubt.
