Laudes de s. Cruce

A 16th century Laudes de s. Cruce is preserved in NL-SHra IllLVrBr 69, belonging to the Illustre Lieve Vrouwe Broederschap of St.-Janskerk in 's Hertogenbosch, with an Ordinantie explaining how it should be sung. It has prescriptions for the organ, for an alternatim practice of the hymn Vexilla regis, and it says that the verse O crux ave spes unica should be sung by two kneeling choir boys, three times and slowly (stateliken ende lansem) (Gregoriaans in laatmiddeleeuws 's-Hertogenbosch, pp. 68-69).

A Laudes de Cruce is also in B-Br 4860, fols. 75r-76v (incl the trope Benedicamus in laude crucis).
