NL-SHsj 216-2

Graduale-sequentiarium, ca 1530, addition dated 1583, from St Janskerk in 's Hertogenbosch. It is at present preserved in the archive of St. Jan cathedral ('De Bouwloods'); it has no signature, but in the (unpublished) Inventarislijst van het kerkelijk kunstbezit parochie Sint-Jan (parochie binnenstad) te 's-Hertogenbosch of the diocese it has inv.nr. 216-2.

One of the two liturgical manuscripts predating 1629 from the chapter of St.Jan at 's Hertogenbosch. Probably written at the Gregoriushuis.

Square notation on black staves. Contents: Mass chants and sequences. Among the saints: Oda, Willibrordus.

The book is incomplete and damaged. Originally 128 fols., but only 33-128 are left, of which the fols 33-39 have been cut loose. The fols. 1-32 have disappeared.

On fols. 115v-117v some sequences are written in mensural notation: Mittit ad virginem for 'in aurea missa' and Preter rerum seriem for Missa in nocte Nativ. Domini.
