| Antwerpen: Michielsabdij |
Premonstratensian abbey in Antwerpen, founded 1124 by premonstratensians of Prémontré; before that time the Michielskerk was a chapter church. When the church was transformed into a premonstratensian abbey, the canons went over to the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, where a chapter was founded in the same year.
The Michielsabdij was the mother abbey of the Abdij Tongerlo, Averbode and Abdij Middelburg.
