Geel: Dimpnakerk

The Dimpnakerk, dedicated to Dimpna, was originally a parish church. A college of 10 vicars was founded in 1532 and raised to the rank of chapter in 1562 by the Lords of Geel (De Merode family).

Manuscripts

Since the 1970's the treasure of the church, including the manuscripts, is preserved in the Dimpna- en Gasthuismuseum in Geel:

* B-GEELdgm Antiphoner, mid 16th century
* B-GEELdgm Dimpna-office, 16th century

Besides, there are two vitae of St Dimpna, one of them contains the sequentia Laudes Dimpne plebs nostra decantat pie alleluia.

There are some imprints among which: Graduale Romanum de Tempore et sanctis Iuxta ritum Missalis ex decreto sacro sancti Concilij Tridentini restituti et Pii V. Pont. Max. iussu editi.
