In some of the older fragments the difference between Low Countries
notation (similar to De Loos,
par. II-3, group 1) and Lorraine notation is not quite obvious,
especially when there is no oriscus. The ascending line of the axis of
notation is almost vertical and the descending line is slanting.
After a closer inspection it might appear that several of the
fragments have belonged to the same manuscript.
