Liturgical fragments in Leuven: Abdij van Park |
The Abdij van Park contains several fragments, both liturgical and non-liturgical. Ms 21 is bound in a 16th century graduale fragment. Ms 24 is a farde with fragments, but no liturgical ones. Besides, the abbey possesses several piles of fragments without shelf numbers; among these are liturgical fragments from the 12th to the 16th century. The notation is varying: Hufnagelschrift, square and lorraine-like notation. Some fragments are very dirty and damaged.
One of the fragments has a sequentia for St Martin Nostri patris ac pastoris. Another one has the sequentia Alleluya nunc decantet universalis ecclesia, this fragment has a rather beautiful decoration and a slightly slanting (English?) square notation on red staves. Some other fragments have staffless Low Countries neumes. I folded these fragments separately in a piece of paper, November 2000.
