The text hands

The scribes and notators of the Hartker antiphoner are the following people:

The original codex

* Scribe A, who wrote text as well as neumes; hence I will call him A-tn. He wrote the entire text, and the neumes up till p. 269; perhaps he wrote the rubrics as well; then he should be called A-tnr
* Scribe B, who wrote the neumes from p. 270 onwards, hence B-n
* Scribe C, who wrote the neumes over the text lines in red paint, the Afra-chants on p. 386 (192) ff, and some other things

Besides these there are some additional scribes who did their work later:

* Scribe D, who wrote text and neumes of some additions (versus ad Te Deum etc.)
391, p. 289 (95)/14

The R of scribe A: here the slanting leg of the R begins more or less at the junction of the semicircle and the vertical.

391, p. 289 (95)/14

The red paint (of A?) is applied over the neumes of notator B.
