Utrecht: Dom or Maartenskerk

Cathedral of Utrecht, founded by Willibrordus, late 7th century, and dedicated to Martinus of Tours. It formed part of the Cross of Churches.

The Martinuskerk was the Utrecht cathedral up to the reformation, but then became protestant like all Utrecht churches. The present cathedral is the Catharinakerk.

It possessed relics of Agnes, Pontianus, Barbara.

Manuscripts

* The 'Ansfriduscodex', an Evangelistarium prepared at St. Gall ca 950-1000 was donated to the Utrecht Dom by bishop Ansfridus (995-1010). It was transferred to the Lebuinuskerk in Deventer between 1375 and 1566 (see Middeleeuwse Boeken ..., pp. 26-29 and 12-19)
* The Bernulfuscodex, an Evangelistarium prepared at Reichenau 1040-1050, was probably donated to the Utrecht Dom by bishop Bernulfus (1027-1054). It was transferred to the Lebuinuskerk in Deventer later on (see Middeleeuwse Boeken ..., pp. 30-31 and 12-19)
* NL-Ua Domkap. 67: a mid 14th century manuscript, containing a.o. an ordinal (edited by Séjourné)
* NL-Uc ABM 62, Missal winter part, early 13th century
* B-Br II 923, noted summer breviary, 15th century, probably from the Dom
* Turijn, Bibl.Regia 14526 D.C., a manuscript similar to NL-Ua 67, but slightly younger (photographs of it are in front of Domarchief 67)
* Ordinarius vetus insigniis ecclesie Trajectensis pro anno Domini 1557, small printed calendar
