Johannieten, Hospitaalridders van St Jan, Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. Patron saint of this order: Johannes Baptista. The order originated in the 11th century, as a monastic brotherhood caring for the needs of Latin pilgrims in the Holy Land. The brothers managed a hospital in Jerusalem.
