Walfridus

Martyr, 10th century, from the region of Groningen, where he died together with his son Rafridus. He was venerated in this region, especially in the village Bedum, where the Walfriduskerk was dedicated to him.

Feast: 22 June.

His name is in NL-Uc BMH 7 in NL-BOLSWso B (fol 171r-v), and in Oldenburg, Niedersächsiches Staatsarchiv, Stadtarchiv Jever, inv.nr. 106, nr 7 (missal fragments, 13th century).
