This script is intended for research on responsories and their verses; it reveals the different verses that are assigned to many responsories.
Select two or more manuscripts (their sigla will appear in the shopping basket). Enter, if desired, a feast selection string (this may be an entire feast name or part of it, such as 'Adv' or 'per annum'; if this field remains empty the entire manuscripts will be compared). Then press Submit.
The script will search the selected CANTUS files and compare the verses of the chants (or rather: the verse suffixes that follow the CAO-number in the files; non-CAO-chants are left out).
NB: As the script identifies the chants by their ID-number only, only CAO-chants are taken into account. The script recognizes the CAO-numbers 6001 - 7922 as responsories. In case a responsory has several verses, it compares only the first, in order to avoid problems with many-verse reponsories such as Libera Me, and verses added by a younger hand (which may be encoded as a second verse in the files.)
